Declutter Friday

Today is Declutter Friday!!!!

Today I'm in my closet. It's not really that bad, but it drove me crazy every time I went in there.

Before I wrapped our Christmas presents in the closet. I was so tired of going in there to get dressed and stepping over wrapping paper, scissors, tape, presents. I did spend over my 10 min. that I usually spend decluttering. I think this week it took me a little over 30 min. I had to take everything back to where it belonged, iron clothes, etc.
This area drove me CRAZY! I'm making Nick a denim quilt using all of our old jeans. I thought if I put them in my closet and looked at the pile everyday it would motivate me to get started on it. Nope! I went in there everyday, saw the pile and was depressed because I had a pile on my floor and knew I should be getting started on it and had done nothing with it.

After Everything is put away where it belongs, clothes ironed and hung up.
Pile gone, yesterday I cut out over 100 squares. I plan on cutting up at least 1 pair a day. I think I have about 10 pairs left, 10 days I should be done.
Shelves cleaned! Yeah, I have my closet back!

Looks great! We are going to start painting our bedroom soon and that is what I dread, getting the closet all emptied out and organized. It will be a good way to get rid of things we don't use.

Hope you had a nice holiday! I need to be on that diet train as well now. It's depressing when you get a bunch of pants for Christmas and none of them fit. :(

Thanks for the compliment on the house! That's exactly what we do, sit on the porch and watch the walkers and neighbors pass by. I usually grab a big stack of magazines and head out there to relax.

whew! That's a lot of cutting--and you must feel so much better now that you've taken care of that pile of denim, and your closet is back in order.

Hope you had a wonderful Christmas, too!
